There was a time when I worked for a famous High Street purveyor of all things Photography, remember the High Street, after the times we are going through now everything may be different in the aftermath. So anyway camera shops......used to deal in Secondhand gear and I had the opportunity to buy a complete Hasselblad Xpan kit or a Fuji GSW690...oh lord they were both cheap but the Fuji more so....idiot....have you seen how much Xpans are now????? But it's the format I wish I had gone for, okay the fuji had monster sized 6 x 9 cm negatives...the xpan had size 65 x 24 mm but it was the format, the letterbox shape...mmmmm. And I've been looking at the Fuji GFX 50R with panoramic mode...that's a lot of cash..so time to think of an alternative
Create a crop profile in Lightroom or Photoshop, 65 x 24 and train your eye to see in panoramic mode... yeah right...but I've tried and my first gallery of 2020 is Panoramics of the area where I now live. So with travel restrictions, self isolating, time on your hands and the wind in your sails...well why not. Don't let the format you see through the viewfinder of your camera limit your vision, enjoy.
