I've written on here before that once, I had the chance to buy a Hasselblad X-pan or a Fuji GSW 690...I chose the Fuji but really I should have taken both. Since then I have stitched together many a panorama using progressively better software but the hankering for shooting that 'letterbox' shape never left...and then late last year i got myself a Sirui 50mm T2.9 anamorphic lens.
It really is like stepping back in time, the way I shoot with it is.....full manual with ISO auto and the rather helpful 'Focus Peaking' on in the camera menu. I have an old joiners level that I used to use with Gandolfi and Sinar view cameras way back in the '70's...and the Nikon has a little level in the hot shoe just to make sure that this non-rectilinear lens doesn't go crazy. I worked out that I can use a Go-Pro lens profile to almost get things straight and level and I'm sure Adobe has a Sirui profile ready for an update to LR soon....maybe...don't hold your breath.
So here we have it , a selection of what I saw from late 2023 to 2024. These will also make up an album I'm printing with an attached USB stick for posterity
